S & J Villari

Have you ever wondered what an abandoned livestock mill looks like? I never did either. I'm assuming that this is where pigs were raised, boarded, and shipped off to 'you-know-where'. This mill is no longer functioning and abandoned. It's located right next to the rail road tracks in Snow Hill, MD. Guess the livestock was transported all over the place via the rails.

I drove past this building a few times, tried to figure out what exactly it was, and then one day walked behind the building and saw the large 'S & J Villari Livestock Co.' sign on the side of the building that faces the rail road tracks.
I'm not sure how long this mill has been vacant, obviously a long time based on it's degree of decomposition. There were still plenty of vintage pieces remaining in this building.
Sandi, my labradoodle, came along with me to do some work in Snow Hill the day I visited the Villari mill. She loved sniffing everything! Can you imagine all of the scents in this place?
I spotted this pink, plastic flamingo on the roof. Wonder why he's up there? Interesting. Who would dare climb onto the roof of a caving-in wooden building? Unless of course it has been there since who-knows-when.
After doing some research, I found out that S & J Villari Livestock has moved to Frankford, DE. Still on the rail road tracks. Just in a different town. Not so sure I'll ever want to venture into a livestock mill ever again. The idea behind it kind of freaks me out. This building was a neat place to visit because it wasn't functioning, but I'd hate to visit a livestock mill that's in operation.
