Berlin, NJ

I went day-tripping today. Early this morning I hopped in my car and drove to the middle-of-nowhere, New Jersey. A 3 hour drive landed me across the Delaware Memorial Bridge, outside of Philadelphia, and in Berlin, NJ.
I had a photo shoot in Chesilhurst (the aforementioned middle-of-nowhere) for Too Fast Clothing this afternoon. Chesilhurst is about 5 miles past Berlin, NJ. You may be wondering why I'm so excited about Berlin? I live in Berlin, MD so driving through another town and seeing Berlin signs and comparing it to our historic town was awesome. I had several hours after my shoot at Too Fast (still excited about that!) before the sun came down and I was supposed to be back in Maryland so I went exploring. Here's what I found:

Berlin, NJ has a diner! So jealous. Wish my town had a shiny silver diner. Today they were serving corn beef and cabbage specials for St. Patrick's Day. I passed on those and went for a classic grilled cheese and tomato soup... and yellow cake with green icing for dessert! I had to get St. Patty's Day in there somewhere. (Side note: The movie "Jersey Girl" with Ben Affleck and Liv Tyler was filmed right at the diner bar where I sat today.)
They have lots of pretty antique stores (just like my Berlin) and one of the largest Goodwill stores that I have ever seen! Honestly... have you ever seen this many used keyboards at any thrift store before? Geesh.
I brought home some glitzy vintage clutches to add to my collection, a sequined Guess dress, and some stuffed animals for Sandi to tear apart. She loves thrifted toys for only 49 cents!
I had one of the best chocolate shakes at his cute place. I adore drive-ins. Such a classic. Tray service and all!
After all of this walking and eating it was time to head home. It was great to get out of town for the day and see some new things. Oh! But while I was at the Too Fast warehouses, I picked up these lovelies at manufactures price. Such a steal. Can't wait to wear them!
I had a fabulous day in Berlin, NJ but am glad to be back in Berlin, MD. Hope you had a great day, too. Great St. Patrick's Day in my book!
