Awesome night with my friends! Just what the doctor ordered. With hearing the terrible news about Will, working all afternoon, and pathetic pollen allergies earlier today - a night out with some of my close friends was perfect.
We were trying to make it to downtown Salisbury, MD to attend the Just Folks Festival. Well, that didn't happen. We made it there on time... it's just that the festival was no where to be found! None of the shop employees along the historic streets had any clue what we were talking about when we asked them if we were are the right spot. The Just Folks director didn't answer their phone when we called to inquire either. How were we supposed to know that this was an invisible event? Silly us.
We walked around downtown for a little, then headed to a waterfront restaurant and got a bite to eat. What to do next? Thrift shopping, of course! Found some killer deals! I snagged this Trashy Diva dress for less than $7. I felt thrilled when I came home and saw the prices of the same vintage-inspired dresses on the Trashy Diva site. Thank you to whoever donated this dress to our Goodwill! I purchased this vintage pressed-leather purse for only a few bucks, too. I found 3 wig pins and 2 nonpareil candies inside of it. I think that I like the prior owner of this bag. Thrift store score!
Thift shopping followed by dessert? You've got me! Swung by Rita's for an Italian Ice delight before rocking out in the car and heading home. Who knew that John could sing the high notes to Ce-lo Green’s “Forget You”. I didn’t even know the song but was very impressed.
Needless to say, my spirits seem to be higher. Thanks for the wonderful night, pals. You're the best. We'll catch the Folk Fest some other time. If it event exists. Was anyone else searching for the mysterious Thursday night folk celebration? If so, please tell this sister where it was!
