Carey Road

Two things I love and adore? Abandoned, delapidated, old buildings and finding beautiful vintage items on the cheap at a thrift store. You probably already knew that though seeing as that's what my little blog is all about. I combined these two things during this little photoshoot on Carey Road earlier this week. I've been working on my photo editing and graphic design skills lately. Can't you tell by the above picture? So much fun.

This enticing grey building is nestled on the corner of Carey Road and Old Worcester Highway. It used to be a general store that many people stopped at on their way to the shore. Now, it's closed and someone's using it for a storage place. I peeked in the windows and it's filled with frilly, floral furniture - Most likely outdated old furniture discareded from someone's home who didn't have the heart to throw it away just yet. I think it'd be really rad if we still had general stores instead of super department stores.
About that outfit. I just picked up this full circle skirt at a thrift store. It was only $5.75! Yow! Based upon the seams, it's 100% hand-made. The fabric is so nice, thick, and moves so well. The eggplant color is splendid. It was love at first sight. That dainty gold vintage purse was also purchased at the thrift store for only $1. I swear those thrift-shop employees cut me a deal sometimes because they know I'm a sucker for vintage items that most people just overlook while shopping.

I've noticed that I've been doing the tube-top, circle skirt, thick belt look alot lately. Apparently it's my signature look this season. It's an outfit that's so comfortable, looks chic, is easy to put together but still looks a little dressy. Do you think so?
I promise I'll stop posting tube-top/skirt outfit posts. I don't want you to think that's the only thing I wear... even if it's my staple, go-to outfit. I hope this week is treating you well, thus far in every way possible!

Beautiful as always! Love the top pic. But really I love it all. That skirt color is phenomenal.

Thanks, Amy! I think I've literally worn it about 9 times since I bought it about 2 weeks ago. It's a new favorite, for sure!
